FFL Scouting Report: Air and Style

We're knee deep in the 2015 competition season. With four AFP platinum level events in the books and many more to come, FREESKIER's Fantasy Freeride League is anybody's game. The next event on the FFL schedule is Los Angeles, California's own "Air and Style" contest. This year marks the first time that skiers will compete in the famed snowboarding event, and with the stacked lineup that Shaun White has invited, it's bound to be one helluva show.

For your convenience we've provided some tips and tricks for FFL participants looking to make moves at Air and Style. Get the scoop below.

Fantasy Freeride Scouting Report - Air and Style - Los Angeles, California - February 21 - 22, 2015

For the first time ever, the famous stadium big air contest "Air & Style" will feature skiers. In fact, the event will showcase 16 of the best big air skiers on planet Earth. With such a small field of invited athletes it becomes necessary to completely restructure most all FFL lineups to be accommodating of the event. This event could easily turn out to be a turning point in the year for anyone paying close attention to The League.

Invited Athletes:

Bobby Brown
Joss Christensen
Vincent Gagnier
Gus Kenworthy
Kai Mahler
Noah Morrison
Alex Schlopy
Jesper Tjader
Matt Walker
Jossi Wells
Oscar Wester
James Woods
Tom Wallisch
PK Hunder
Alex Bellemare
Oystein Braaten

Who to look for:

Kai Mahler: $22,000 | Owned: 2.19%

As one of the most consistent skiers in any big air contest it comes as a bit of a surprise that only 2.19% of FFL has picked up Mahler for their Air and Style Line up. He proved during X Games that he is back and skiing very strong after a knee injury put him out for the latter part of last season and we expect to see another stellar performance out of this young Swiss skier.

Vincent Gagnier: $25,000 | Owned: 8.83%

Coming off a win at X, Vinny G is definitely one to watch out for coming into this contest. His tricks are far different than any that will be done by anyone else in the contest. His creativity has been known to boost him towards the top of the leader board, making him an easy favorite to walk away with yet another big air win, this season.

Bobby Brown: $28,000 | Owned: 32.39%

No stranger to stadium big air competitions, Bobby is a force to be reckoned with. As one of the more experienced big air skiers in the field, he knows how to put tricks down when needed and he always has the capability of coming out on top at the end of the day.

Gus Kenworthy: $35,000 | Owned: 75.30%

There is a reason why over three quarters of FFL has Kenny G on their roster. He consistently accumulates great results. With 322 accumulated FFL points so far on the season he is in the lead as far as athletes go, and we expect to see yet another solid performance out of Gus this month in LA.

Jesper Tjader: $23,500 | Owned: 23.48%

Tjader has been moving up the ranks of the competition circuit in recent years. His ability to land large rotations on any size jump makes him an easy pick for a stadium contest like Air and Style. It would not be surprising to see him out flip and spin the majority of the field and rise towards the top at this contest.

Oscar Wester: $21,000 | Owned: 6.56%

Although he hasn't been skiing within the professional circuit for too long, Wester has quickly proven that he is a heavy hitter in any big air competition. Wester is a dark-horse with every bit of potential to come out of the shadows and steal a win at Air and Style. Thus, we would advise that more than the current 6.56% of FFL currently owning him pick up the young Wester before trading comes to a close.

Who to sell:

Any and / or all athletes who are not listed on the start list, above.

Best of luck to all athletes and Fantasy Freeride League participants at Air and Style. If you're just joining us, remember that the participant with the highest point total each week will win a pair of 2015 anon. Relapse goggles. The Relapse features a low profile frame with an ultra-wide field of vision. Additionally, it's thinner designed face foams helps to create a close-to-the-face fit to further enhance peripheral vision.

If that wasn't enough, the overall top scorer at the end of the FFL season will take home a $1,000 shopping spree to Slope Style ski shop in Breckenridge, Colorado. So, let's get trading!
